Welcome to Breastfeeding Success

Our story begins with a shared
calling to serve all families

Lauren and Janet first met while working as Breastfeeding Peer Counselors at WIC. They started their professional lactation careers there, learning alongside other passionate helpers who are part of the Breastfeeding Success team today.

They came together as their shared vision grew: to make compassionate, expert lactation care accessible to every family.

Before Breastfeeding Success, families were often left to pay out of pocket for breastfeeding help once they left the hospital.

In 2004, Lauren and Janet set out to build something new: a program grounded in equity, community, and care. Their vision was simple but bold—to make lactation support a seamless, essential part of every family’s healthcare, not an added expense.

Today, we’re proud to be Texas’s largest provider of lactation care, supporting one in every ten babies born in the state. Families now have access to expert guidance whenever and wherever they need it, covered by their health insurance. And the next generation of lactation consultants is growing through paid internships that keep this circle of care strong.

At Breastfeeding Success, we believe that when families are supported, everyone thrives. Our story is about connection, compassion, and the belief that every parent deserves the help they need to give their baby the very best start.

Helping families thrive through compassionate lactation care

Headquartered in Austin, Texas, Breastfeeding Success has grown to be the largest provider of lactation services across Texas. We partner with multiple hospital systems, physician practices, and community organizations to ensure that high-quality lactation care, nutrition, and parent education is available to every family who wants it.

To serve all families regardless of income or feeding choice with expert lactation care and parent education that is integrated into the health care delivery system.
A future where comprehensive breastfeeding support and parent education is the standard of care across the nation — improving health outcomes for mothers, babies, and entire communities.

Families Define Success
We believe every family deserves access to exceptional care, trusted guidance, and the confidence to define their own feeding journey. We practice patient-centered care by honoring all informed choices and supporting families with culturally-aware, evidence-based care that builds confidence and trust.

Integration Improves Outcomes
Breastfeeding medicine belongs in healthcare, not apart from it. So we deliver the gold standard of breastfeeding medicine and quality lactation support as part of the health care delivery system. Families thrive when lactation care is part of the healthcare system. We collaborate with hospitals, physicians, insurers, and public health partners to make that integration a reality.

Equity, Education, and Evidence
We are committed to growing the lactation profession by training the next generation of IBCLCs through paid internships in multiple care settings ensuring access to training for all. Our focus is on fostering an inclusive, equitable profession — ensuring that all care is grounded in evidence, compassion, and is delivered by individuals from all backgrounds with a calling to serve families.
